The Fourth Avenue Cafe will be the page where all L'Arc-en-Ciel related things will be, biography, discography, images, updates, solo and side projects, and links. I decided to create this because there are no Laruku websites or pages on Neocities, so why not be the first? More soon...
There have been 7 members all together of Laruku. Here is the list of members/past members and some information on them.
hyde (usually spelt in all lowercase or all uppercase, doesn't matter but for the sake of this I will be using lowercase) is the vocalist of L'Arc-en-Ciel, and has been since the band's formation when he and pero of the band Jelsarem's Rod were invited to start L'Arc-en-Ciel by the bassist tetsuya. hyde's stage name used to be HIDE (derived from his real name Hideto Takarai) but swapped out the "I" for a "Y" because of HIDE from X-Japan bearing the same name. hyde writes most of the band's lyrics and composes some of the songs. In 2001 he started his solo career (dw laruku r still together) which became successful worldwide. In 2008 hyde also started a project with KAZ (Oblivion Dust) called VAMPS which was also very popular. VAMPS went on "hiatus" (ok I see what ur doing there pulling a silverchair are ya?) in 2017 and hasn't resumed activities since (sadly). Fun Fact: hyde's favourite animal is the red panda.
tetsuya (known as tetsu at the time but he changed his stage name to tetsuya so that's what I'll use. yes also spelt lowercase all of their names r like this) is the bassist of L'Arc-en-Ciel (also the sometimes backup vocalist) and the leader of the band. He invited all of the original members to join in 1991, and also invited ken to join in 1992 (more later). tetsuya composes some of the songs and writes lyrics sometimes (correct me if I'm wrong). tetsuya also started solo activites in 2001 under the name TETSU69 (yes laruku... we know ur all freaks (of nature?!?!?)). Around 2010 he announced that he had changed his stage name to tetsuya. Fun Fact: tetsuya's favourite colour is pink.
hiro was the guitarist of L'Arc-en-Ciel from the band's founding in early 1991 to 12th of June, 1992. I don"t know much about hiro tbh. He was replaced by ken as the guitarist in 1992.
pero was the drummer of L'Arc-en-Ciel from it's formation to December 1992. He left Jelsarem's Rod with hyde to join laruku. According to hyde's biography "The Hyde" they recorded quite a bit of Dune (laruku's first album) with him, but he eventually stopped coming to rehearsals and left the band in December 1992. He was replaced with sakura as the drummer in 1993. You can hear him play on early demos and lives from laruku's indie era.
