Short bio: Kaya (formerly known as Hime) was born on the 17th of July, 1980, in Tokushima Prefecture, Shikoku. He was born during a thunderstorm apparently, so that's why he likes them. Kaya says that when he was 3, he performed at a local music festival and knew from then he wanted to become a singer. However, his musical career did not start until he was 17, in the band Zephyr Zone. Not much is known about them, and after that he went on to be in two other bands, Meties and ISOLA. It was around 2000 (I believe) that he met Hora, who was in Velvet Eden at the time, and the two became friends. In 2001, they started a darkwave based duo called Rudolf Steiner. Sometime the following year, Mana-sama (yes THAT Mana-sama from Malice Mizer and Moi dix Mois) read about them in a newspaper and went to one of their lives. He then decided to produce the group, and they changed their name to Schwarz Stein (black stone in German). Kaya then changed his stage name, which was Hime at the time, to his current stage name, which is said to come from a type of bird (need to factcheck that).

You know, as I'm writing this, I just found the original version of Kugutsu (probably most listened Kaya song). I really like the different vocal effects and how Kaya-sama's voice is kinda softer. But ohhh my god the strings nearly jumpscared me at the start lol. Of course though, any and every version of Kugutsu is good.

I might as well add a site here because I'm still trying to think of what to add. This website is actually so awesome, it has so much information on different vkei bands and there are a LOT of translations for songs. It has most translations for Kaya's releases up to Ophelia, and also has a lot of Schwarz Stein things :3 it is also good if you want to lean about EGL fashion and the related styles (what is bro going on about anymore :/) anyway idk ok bye
